Verdict

The final race on the card should go to Dark Shadows whose form looks superior to that of Behzad, Turned Out Nice and Air Of Confusion. Dark Shadows, a winner on the Flat at Ripon three years ago, comes into this on the back of a disappointing effort in soft ground on the level at Hamilton recently. However, his hurdles form is much better, and he has finished second to decent opposition on a number of occasions, including twice here at Perth. He obviously likes the Scottish track, will go on the ground, and can deservedly open his account over timber. Behzad is a major candidate for a place at least, having shaped well a number of times, including when second to Champagne Harry at Uttoxeter. Turned Out Nice has been seen here on his last two starts over two miles and will appreciate the step up in trip. His third to Laouen the time before last is not bad form. Air Of Confusion has potential but is still inexperienced so a bigger candidate for the frame may be Be The Tops, winner of an Irish point-to-point who showed signs of greenness at Uttoxeter but comes from a top stable. The selection though is Dark Shadows.
