Verdict
Perth's three-day fixture gets under way with what should not be the hardest of races to solve, with Meggie's Beau, North Gold, Moscow whispers and Salmon Ladder holding the best claims. The last pair make the trip over from Ireland and it is North Gold who has marginally the better claims. However, they will both struggle to contain Meggie's Beau who ran really well to chase home Nonantais at Ludlow, his best effort to date. As the useful Desmond Tutu was behind in third, the form looks useful. His biggest danger may be Moscow Whisper who has shaped well on both outings over timber so far. Philip Hobbs never wastes his trips up north so expect a prominent showing.
