In depth

Verdict

A potentially trappy contest where the answer might just be Catch the Perk, with Mantilla and Cyborsun two others worth due consideration. Catch The Perk was the winner of a Class F handicap chase at Southwell last time, and while that was a very poor race, this one is not too hot either. In great heart with four wins from his last seven starts, trip and ground suit, though the 7lb rise for that last win is a worry. Nevertheless, nothing else is in cracking form and so we will take a chance with him. Mantilla showed us a bit of chase form for the first time when finishing a three length second to rival bidder at Sedgefield last time out and he can again go well, though the recent rains have not helped his cause. Cyborsun however, would prefer more cut to slow them down further. He shoulders top weight and is at least in some sort of form after landing a selling hurdle last time out over this trip. He does throw in the odd poor effort thought so he is not one to back with confidence. Mac Hine is definitely one of Jonjo O'Neill's lesser lights and he does not inspire, so we will take Catch The Perk to score.
