In depth

Verdict

A race in which the market will offer the best clues with two previous winners and eight debutantes on view. John Billinge's impressive Ayr winner, Moonzie Laird, holds the right credentials for the decent prize. The horse knew his business when asked to quicken and improvement is highly likely. Duringthenight has a brace of seconds to his name at Hexham and is at least guaranteed to handle the ground. Of the debutantes, The Mighty Flynn makes plenty of appeal. Peter Monteith has a high strike rate on the Scottish tracks and this horse has a stout flat pedigree. Wilson Renwick will have had the choice of mounts and this one has to be respected. Your A Gassman conversely has a traditional National Hunt pedigree. Any market support for Ferdy Murphy's charge must be noted. Roobihoo finished behind a couple of previous winners on debut at Newcastle. Chris Grant's charge looks sure to improve on that effort and could trouble the placings.
