In depth

Verdict

Anything other than a win for Maousse Honor would be a major shock here. The mare hit form with an easy win at Worcester in June and then followed up a month later at Newton Abbot. The Pipe-McCoy contestant has the look of a penalty kick and will not be making the long journey up from Devon to pick up anything other than winning pay. Best of the rest could well be Malcolm Jefferson-trained Mrs Jodi. Admittedly, conditions might be a bit on the quick side for her, but she jumps well and with over a stone in hand on the favourite she may be good enough to chase him home. She comes here fresh after a five month break. Another who has place claims is Sijujama, though closer inspection of his recent placed efforts reveal that he is a one-pacer. The market should certainly be a guide to the chances of both Nicky Richards-trained Storm Ahead, while Henrianjames cannot be completely discounted from each-way calculations.
