Verdict
SOLWAY SUNSET is given the nod in preference to Summer Soul and English City in a race lacking in quality. Summer Soul sprang a surprise in a stayers' contest at Newcastle on the Flat and is capable of going well here-he was second in a selling hurdle previously. English City won successive races last season, and has gone up the handicap as a consequence. However, he ran well in defeat at Aintree last time and he too can go well. Solway Sunset is generally very consistent, but she bounced back from a couple of disappointing runs to land a Cartmel contest recently. That was a conditional jockey event so he escapes a penalty, and Solway Sunset can take advantage here.
