In depth

Verdict

Pilsdon Pen, progressive last spring, carried on where he’d left off with a comeback victory at Exeter and shouldn’t be far away again. Tara Iti has a good record here and may be a better bet than stablemate Saligo Bay if his latest run at Lingfield is ignored. The latter needed the help of the stewards to record a victory last time and has been raised another 4lb. Begin The Luck has been knocking on the door but we’ll take a chance on the useful four-year-old MR FREEDOM tried in handicap company as he has already won around here and gives the impression he’ll handle soft ground.
