Verdict

Clongowes had victory in his grasp when falling at the last at Newton Abbot in May. He is still a maiden but has placed here several times and has a first run for a new yard. Course winner Good News was second at Stratford in October but Jaramillo has been out of sorts since beating a useful sort at Sedgefield in February. STANLEY PINCOMBE goes well for an inexperienced rider and landed an amateur riders’ handicap here two weeks ago. He’s 5lb higher but should be thereabouts again. Walk Of No Shame is not out of this either and Kansas Du Berlais will have come on a bundle for a fourth at Sandown. Baltray easily landed the odds in a maiden at Hereford and is the least exposed so can’t be ignored.
