Verdict

OSCAR PAPA can land the finale at the expense of Swing State and Current Climate. Nick Gifford's team are not normally associated with first time out winners so Oscar Papa's second placing will have been a pleasant surprise for the handler. A well bred individual, he looks the type that can go on to better things. Swing State has to give away a penalty all around. The bumper in which he obliged was staged on significantly faster conditions than these. Current Climate may be seen to better effect when tried over further. General Villegas comes here rather than take an engagement at Kempton later in the week. The market is watched to see if that is significant. Thorpey's Girl is well bred though went through the ring at a suspiciously low sales price. Rebellious is a half-brother to a number of point-to-point winners. Oscar Papa should have too much class for his rivals this afternoon.
