In depth

Verdict

A competitive opener for starters and it could be worth chancing Go Johnny Go against Forest Silver and Lord Appellare. The selection switches back to racing left handed having had a few runs at right handed tracks and probably ran one of his best races to date when fourth at Newbury over an inadequate two miles. Forest Silver does have to give away that winners penalty. Seamus Mullins' grey has put up some fair form at the course in bumpers and should go well at a price. Lord Appellare probably faced a hopeless task against Gansey last time out. This looks much more his level. Wheres Johnny may have run up a fortuitous winner last time out as the likely winner capsized at the last. Jamie Poulton reckons he could be the type to get further in time. Dakota Bay hasn't shown too much over obstacles although his trainer has been in fair nick of late. Flamehairedtemptress appears to need better ground to be at her best. A fair race with plenty of chances and we like Go Johnny Go.
