In depth

Verdict

Tap Tap Boom's form has been a mixed bag since coming over from France and he's hard to assess. He also has to give plenty of weight to his rivals, although the best of his form - a fair Hereford third last December under today's conditional - puts him in here with decent claims. Dame du Soir has come down in the weights by over a stone this calendar year, which does make her well handicapped, but she does need to raise her game after some indifferent efforts. LE COEUR NET is another whose mark is on a downward spiral but he makes some appeal if ready for this seasonal reappearance as he does house a solid level of consistency. He just gets the nod over course and distance winner, Darebin, who should be all the better for his recent reappearance and is respected off a workable mark.
