Verdict
MAUNA KEA (NAP) was carrying a 7lb penalty for a 14-length victory over 3m at Taunton when ploughing through the mud to complete a double at Exeter where he won by 20 lengths. Not surprisingly, he's been hit hard with a 14lb rise but doesn't look to have much more to do and a hat-trick beckons. Mogestic is a real staying type who has managed to win five times over hurdles, including over this course and distance. He's only 2lb higher than his last victory so looks a threat. Three Star General has only won once but is gradually dropping in the weights and would have a chance on his neck defeat in a Class 3 handicap at Ascot in February. Potters Hedger won a Fakenham maiden in May and will have needed his comeback at Ascot but Sackett ran poorly at Warwick on New Year's Eve.
