In depth

Verdict

Thomas Crapper stays the trip, as he showed at Southwell in November, and he was taking on much better company at Cheltenham on New Year's Day. Uhlan Bute won in this grade at Ludlow in April and hasn't been beaten far in his last couple of races but Ballyheigue Bay, who was in good form around this time last year, has been well beaten since returning to action. Wizards Bridge completed a double on soft ground in the spring so could do with some rain but KILFINICHEN BAY, who has a tremendous strike-rate of 13-45 over jumps, is always likely to pop up at some stage and it would be no shock to see him do so here. Dylanseoghan completed a double in the spring but has looked a bit high in the weights in his two recent runs while it's a long time since Anteros ran over fences.
