In depth

Verdict

Cantgeton is a progressive sort who should take some beating here, with Screenplay, Mount Vettore and Leopold three that can make sure that Pipe's charge does not have things too easy. Cantgeton has won his last two races in style at Newton Abbot and Bangor, and is well over the bad knee injury that threatened to wreck his career. That was picked up at Ludlow in May, but the treatment has worked wonders, and the gelding is thriving at present. This represents a slightly stiffer test as he takes on some older handicappers, but he should be well up to the task. Screenplay did nothing wrong when adding to Sheena West's recent run of form at Fontwell, and Mount Vettore is fit from a spell on the Flat. Leopold was shaken up to score at Fontwell last time and can go well off a decent weight, but Cantgeton is on the upgrade and can duly land the hat-trick.
