Chef D'Equipe scored over fences at Auteuil in June and made a promising start for new connections here a couple of weeks ago where he went on at halfway only to be pegged back. Ridden with more restraint here he should get into the frame again. Mercers Court is a staying chaser who reverts to hurdles on a 12lb lower mark and has the ideal conditions while Guards Chapel won a course and distance handicap last month and is just 4lb higher. Rothman ran well over the track and trip last time though looks more of a chasing type but FLANAGANS FIELD looks well enough treated to land this. He showed much improved form in the spring and reappeared with a very good run at Ffos Las where he just failed to concede the winner 12lb.
