Verdict

NO WOMAN NO CRY represents a trainer who has had a good year with his bumper horses and this gelding gets the nod ahead of Johney Foley and Big Knickers. The selection shaped with promise on his debut at Newbury, finishing third to Dragon's Roost. Although that horse has since failed to frank the form, the feeling is that this son of Kayf Tara should take some beating. Big Knickers ran well behind a very classy horse in the shape of Mizzurka last time out; she was unfancied for that but should go down well with punters today. Kasbadali needs a market check on his debut and he is out of a very successful mare, point-to-point winner Johney Foley looks a likely type on this debut under rules, whilst Chervonet cost £105,000 and is related to plenty of winners. Gorgehous Lliege represents a yard that can ready a newcomer, whilst Just A Smidge may be the pick of Peter Winkworth's duo. Moonshine Hall's record between the flags is chequered, so a bigger and more obvious danger is Rustic Road. She was well-held on her first start at Southwell but better is expected today, although her pedigree suggests that she will need three miles and a hurdle before we see her at her best. An open finish to the card, but preference is for No Woman No Cry.
