In depth

Verdict

Decent prize money for the track and time of year and the sponsors has been rewarded with a competitive line-up. MCKENZIE’S FRIEND is worth a second look as he is two from two at the track and beat recent Towcester runner-up Authorized Too over 2m here last season off level weights. He’s getting 8lb today and looked to be on the way back in a couple of runs last month. Beggar's Wishes is on a hat-trick so can’t be ignored and King Uther got off the mark at Lingfield last time and hails from a yard in terrific form. Holbrook Park and Groundunderrepair are others likely to be thereabouts and Awesome Rosie and Beau Du Brizais are also running well enough to get involved. But Agincourt Reef is looking a shade high in the weights now and Hadfield has not reproduced his best so far this season.
