Verdict
Not much racecourse evidence to go on here and as ever in this type of event, the market will provide significant clues to the outcome. Of those with previous experience, the Venetia Williams-trained By N By looks best having travelled well for a long way in a Kempton bumper before fading in the closing stages. The six-year-old is capable of better while Brook Street and Mini Dare both showed signs of ability on their debut and are others to consider along with Charliemoore, penalised 7lb for a course and distance success earlier in the month. Simon Dow's Soldershire, a gelding by Weld, may be best of the newcomers.
