      Verdict

      AFRICAN OIL was only beaten a length by the in-form Ingleby Angel at Haydock and looks ready to get back on the winning trail. Veeraya didn't look suited by soft ground at Chester after a much better effort at Newmarket and today's conditions should be perfect. Polar Chief and Bold Prediction are both recent winners over the trip and have to be considered, especially the latter, who ran very well in a strong handicap at Newmarket last time, but Party Royal hasn't been in the best of form and needs to bounce back.
