Verdict
Only three entries but tightly matched at the weights. THREE CARD TRICK hasn't done as well as expected since landing a novices' contest at York in September but has been racing in better company and the handicapper has given him a chance. Major Blue, a winner at Wolverhampton, ran his best race on Turf on very fast going at Bath but didn't look up to this level on his next start there. Packington Lane, a winner at Beverley in August, finished last on his reappearance after a long break at Redcar but led for a long way and could do so again.
