      Verdict

      RIDGE RANGER (NAP) didn’t fare too badly carrying a big weight in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood last time and she beat both La Rioja and Mayfair Lady to land a Group Three sprint at York before that. She also has an earlier verdict over Imtiyaaz at Nottingham so Eric Alston’s mare looks sure to go close, despite her penalty. La Rioja should finish closer to the selection on today’s revised terms while Priceless is gradually getting there having suffered narrow-margin defeats the last twice in decent handicaps at Newmarket but the remainder have no easy task at the weights.
