        Verdict

        This should not take too much winning and a chance is taken with Vintage Style to beat likely favourite Sir Don and Mizhar. Vintage Style has only had two runs this term, having formerly been with Richard Hannon, for whom he was successful at Lingfield. He needed the run at Carlisle on his first outing for present connections and then ran well from a bad draw at Hamilton, finishing third to J M W Turner. He should now be ready to do himself justice and is a sporting choice to foil Sir Don who struck winning form at York recently, benefiting from the fast pace to score over six furlongs, having previously been campaigned over further. If they do not go a good clip here, he is worth taking on. Amaranth has been hard to place and a bigger candidate for the frame is Mizhar who was a beaten favourite at Yarmouth. He was gambled on that day, probably due to the fact that Kieren Fallon was booked to ride, but this quirky individual failed to shine. The ability is there though and he must not be entirely overlooked. However, for the winner we return to Vintage Style.
