Verdict

It will be no surprise to see punters rushing for the car park ahead of this headscratcher and we offer Cheery Cat to minimum stakes with Pearl Dealer and Mudish making some appeal among the longer shots. Cheery Cat does not have a great draw to work with but he has been making a habit of finishing close up to some progressive types and he does have winning form over today's course-and-distance. Pearl Dealer represents a yard in form. He clearly has his own ideas about the game although his latest start at Haydock represented a significant improvement on what we had seen previously. Mudhish can be forgiven his reappearance effort as it followed six months off the track. He shaped with plenty of pace on the day. Support Fund drops back to six having raced over further of late. H Harrison is sure to handle today's surface although he has been well beaten of late. Bid For Gold won this race last year and will need to overcome a car park draw in stall 16. Avontuur has become something of a suspect starter and while possessing ability, he is a risky betting medium. Poppy's Rose is an infrequent winner though has won at the track previously. Cheery Cat is a token selection in a very difficult finale.
