In depth

This could become tactical if Atlantic Affair is allowed a soft lead in a race in which all five have claims. The Johnson charge has hardly beaten a rival home in her last two starts but it wouldn't surprise if she returned to form. Pearl Earing would have needed her first run for Karl Burke and has enough weight to deal with but she did win a couple for David Wachman in Ireland last term and isn't ruled out. Arethusa was progressive at two and retains scope for progress but LA DOROTEA has been competing at a higher level of late and should appreciate this drop in class. She is a hopeful choice with Jack Garrity taking off a useful 3lb. Two In The Pink isn't the most reliable but has a chance at her best.

Pearl Earing (IRE) 25-1 (8-3) Behind far side, ridden and outpaced when edged left towards centre over 2f out, weakened over 1f out, 14th of 16, 19l behind Pipers Note (9-6) at Ripon 6f hcp 0-105 (2) gf in Apr.

La Dorotea (IRE) 20-1 (9-6) Slowly into stride, held up, soon pushed along, never dangerous, 7th of 8, 8l behind Third Time Lucky (9-2) at Musselburgh 1m 3yo hcp 0-90 (3) gf.

Two In The Pink (IRE) 9-2 (9-3) In touch, effort over 2f out, no impression final furlong, 5th of 7, 4l behind Maontri (9-4) at Leicester 7f flls hcp 0-80 (4) gf in May.

Arethusa 8-1 (9-4) In touch, ridden 2f out, stayed on to go 3rd inside final furlong, nearest finish, 3rd of 9, 8l behind Black Cherry (9-7) at Sandown 1m 3yo fll hcp 0-85 (4) gf.

Atlantic Affair (IRE) 8-1 (9-0) Soon led, headed 3f out, weakened over 1f out, last of 8, 19l behind Oskar Denarius (8-10) at Chepstow 1m 2f hcp 0-75 (5) sft in May.
