Black Friday was a close third at Musselburgh but withdrawn from a race at York due to good to soft ground so wouldn't want more rain. Harrogate has been narrowly beaten on his last two starts on quick going, fading close home in both after looking the likely winner. MILITIA led for a long way when tackling an extended 5f at York and, with that experience behind him, will take some catching. Rossall was carrying a big weight when a close-up fourth in a Carlisle nursery and should get into the mix while Sovereign State didn't run badly at Sandown and, with further progress, can get competitive. Jonboy shaped with promise at Ayr and looks the type to make plenty of improvement.
