In depth
Verdict
Aaahaygirl, Gassal and Wohaida make the shortlist here with Aahaygirl the selection. Mick Channon has been in fine form with his juveniles and Wohaida was made favourite at Folkestone on her debut but disappointed, although she didnt have the clearest of runs. She may be better on this faster surface but a watching brief is advised. Two places ahead of Wohaida at Folkestone was Willie Haggas' Gassal. That was her second start, and she shaped encouragingly to be beaten only a couple of lengths. She had earlier gone down to the Royal Ascot second Spin Cycle so her form has a solid look. Karl Burke produced a surprise juvenile winner at Ripon on Thursday, and he saddles Aahaygirl here. After a promising second on debut at Haydock, she finished a close fourth in the Listed Hilary Needler at Beverley. That may not have been the best renewal, but nonetheless it represents the best form in the race. With the yard in form, Aahaygirl can make it third time lucky.
