Verdict

Just the six runners turn up for this maiden with Sir Michael Stoute's RACY standing out both on breeding and after a promising debut so he gets the vote ahead of the consistent Ghost and newcomer Karaka Jack. Bred in the purple the selection looked in need of his first run despite finding just one too good. He should come on a lot for that start and is bred for lots of success as a youngster. Ghost will need a much bigger stamina test in time and has held his form well without improving in three decent maidens so far. Another bold bid can be expected but he looks vulnerable here. Karaka Jack looks to have the speed for this test based on his pedigree but with him likely to want a bit of cut in the ground to be seen at his best and with the yard's youngsters often needing there first run this season we are happy to just watch with interest this time. The other three in the field make little appeal so this looks a good opportunity for Racy to get off the mark.
