      Verdict

      MAX VEGA attracted little support at Salisbury but ran a race full of promise, closing fast on the long-time leader Kenzai Warrior at the finish. He'll take some beating with normal progress. Green Book put a moderate debut behind him when just failing to catch Cloud Drift over slightly further on good to soft at Nottingham so is an obvious threat. Top Flight Cool made a decent start at Thirsk then found fast going against him on a return visit though a bigger threat may emerge in the shape of Mark Johnston's newcomer Provocation, a full brother to the very smart Luminate.
