Verdict
GENTLE BEAT is nominally preferred to Lofthouse and Mister Manannan of those with experience whilst there are also a number of interesting newcomers. Gentle Beat hails from a yard whose juveniles often derive considerable benefit from their initial outings and he showed more than enough dash behind the speedy and unbeaten Star Rover to think that he can go close with normal improvement. Mister Manannan showed up well at Ripon despite running green and he should know more now whilst there was also encouragement to be taken from Lofthouse's run at Newbury where he kept on quite well to finish in midfield in what was probably a fair race. Ghostwing, Dixie Bright and Kingdom Of Light were relatively expensive purchases and make some appeal on paper as do most of the field to be fair. The market, therefore, will be well worth keeping an eye on but we'll put forwards Gentle Beat.
