In depth
Verdict
A chance is taken The Real Guru - a speedily-bred type that can be expected to have strengthened up since his eye-catching debut at Leicester in April. Lamistrelle - a stablemate of the selection - and Wotashirtfull are others to bear in mind. The last named is a half-brother is sprint winners and, as he has experience on his side, he would be dangerous to ignore. A nursery should be a formality for this son of Namid and he will be interesting in handicaps after this. Lamistrelle was a relatively expensive purchase and, as she has plenty of winners in her bloodlines, she has to be respected. The betting market will be a good gauge regarding her standing with her stable companion and a careful monitoring is advised. However, experience counts for plenty at this time of the season so, with Andrew Mullen helping his cause with his 3lb claim this could be the day for The Real Guru to start laying down the law.
