Verdict
The feature race on the card looks wide open, with many holding claims including Amused who can go one better than her recent second, with And Toto Too, Peyto Princess and Classy Lassie just three more in with chances. Amused was strongly fancied at Ayr last time after what was an unlucky run over six furlongs at Doncaster the time before. The step up in distance seemed beyond this half-sister to Bishop's Court and Astonished however, and in-form Richard Fahey is right to put her back a furlong despite one or two pundits thinking otherwise. There are many dangers, including And Toto Too who was given a great ride by Fallon at Salisbury, waiting until the last possible second before pouncing between horses to score. Expect similar tactics here. Peyto Princess is a previous course and distance winner and will no doubt be in the shake-up without quite being good enough, while Classy Lassie scraped home at Redcar but will come on for that first run of the season. Last year's winner Bint Royal has since changed stables and is not in the best of form at present, but Andrew Balding's yard are so Emerald Fire should not be ruled out. All in all, Amused has a first rate chance of getting the losses back.
