Verdict

Benemeade landed a Downpatrick bumper in March and was sent off odds-on for his hurdling bow at Fairyhouse but didn't look a natural jumper and finished runner-up to Juan De Gracia. Noel Meade will have been giving him plenty of schooling and with this much longer trip sure to suit he has to be a threat to all. However, PERFECT GENTLEMAN looks the one to be on despite him also failing when a very short-priced favourite at Tramore, though a bad mistake stopped him in his tracks. His earlier effort behind subsequent winner Foxrock over this trip at Naas would be good enough and he's given a chance to gain compensation. Fergiethelegend ran a fine race in a tough handicap here last month and if the principals don't perform again he looks the one to take advantage.
