Verdict
MARISTELLA was having only her third start when comfortably landing a Galway handicap and, though raised 12lb, could turn out to be a pattern-race filly. Corky made all for her first victory over 1m2f where she had Dark Vega close behind in third. The winner will be better suited by this shorter trip and can confirm the form. Pachmena wasn't far behind though is probably better over further than this. Alma Libre is still a maiden but was caught right on the line over 1m2f at Naas and has been left on the same mark. The lightly-raced Gowran maiden winner Georgeta got outpaced in a strong Curragh handicap over a mile and the assessor has given her a chance.
