Verdict

Just half-a-dozen go to post here but an enthralling race in prospect with the long-awaited return to action of FIVEFORTHREE the highlight of the meeting. Willie Mullins' brilliant novice hurdler, winner of the Ballymore Properties at Cheltenham in 2008, hasn't been seen since landing the World Series Hurdle over three miles here in April the following year. He has an entry in the World Hurdle and this is too short but his class can see him through against main threat On The Way Out, who is also better over further as he showed when a close fourth behind Shinrock Paddy in a Grade 3 over 2m3f at Naas last time. Newmill needs no introduction and reverts to hurdles after a reasonable effort in the Grade 2 Kinloch Brae Chase at Thurles. The former champion chaser finished just in front of On The Way Out when hunting up Sublimity at Cork previously and may not be finished winning yet. Der Spieler is a very useful performer on his day but the race conditions are against him here.
