Verdict

Having finished a close third in the championship bumper here in May, BEACON EDGE looks a very smart prospect for jumping and his stable is in good form. He can make a successful hurdling debut though Ego Des Mottes, who started a long odds-on favourite on his debut for Willie Mullins at Galway but but didn't last out the 2m5f trip, travelled well for most of the way. Shanroe has had all of his runs so far in the UK, completing a hat-trick with an easy victory at Perth in June, though meets better class opposition here. The Very Man won a point-to-point then a Navan bumper and wasn't right on his latest start at Fairyhouse.
