Verdict

The sponsors will be delighted to have attracted DENMAN for only his second run in Ireland since landing a point at Liscaroll back in March 2005. While he obviously had a hard race when chasing home Imperial Commander in the Gold Cup that was only his third run in a year and he'll arrive here fresher than most. Joncol produced a gutsy victory over Cooldine in the Hennessy at Leopardstown and has been saved for this while his rival failed to last out the relentless pace and longer trip of the Gold Cup. Barbers Shop has been a disappointment this season and Planet Of Sound has yet to race over the trip but J'y Vole would have been very much closer to Albertas Run in the Ryanair but for twice being impeded at a crucial stage.
