In depth

Verdict

KILTY STORM finished runner-up to Baby Run in what looked a high-quality renewal of the Christie's Foxhunter at Cheltenham and while this is also tough it isn't quite up to that class. On The Net was 11 lengths back in fifth without ever quite getting to the leaders while Dun Doire ran well in seventh but has since taken a heavy fall at Fairyhouse. Southwestern could be the fly in the ointment as he was challenging Baby Run when falling at the last in this a year ago before beating him at Stratford. However, he was always struggling in the Foxhunter where he looked nowhere near his best. Whyso Mayo won this in 2006 but is not as good nowadays, a remark that also applies to Hi Cloy, who was disappointingly beaten by Beantown at Fairyhouse.
