In depth

Verdict

Just one favourite has won in the past ten renewals. Catleen could go off as the market leader and though Willie Mullins' mare looked as though she was in the handicapper's grip at Fairyhouse she was racing over a trip much too short and is better than that. Archie Meade has been raised 7lb for winning at Fairyhouse but that was a big run and he's expected to go well as is the lightly-raced and progressive Cairdin, who was close-up in fourth on only his fourth start over timber. Novarov and Daring Article finished 1-2 at Cork last month and the winner has since run a cracking race behind Dedigout at Fairyhouse where SLEW CHARM was third. The latter was returning to form and with his rider's claim a big plus he can give supporters a good run at a fair price. Whatever Jacksays would be a threat if getting a run from his reserve spot.
