In depth

Verdict

Baby Rock, Strawberry Moon and Tito make most appeal in this maiden and the vote is given to BABY ROCK. Chris Wall's three-year-old ran well when third behind Prescription at Yarmouth last time. War And Peace finished second in that race so if he goes well in the 3:00 then that will give the form a real boost. The ground is a big plus for our selection as he is bred to go with plenty of cut in the ground and he looks poised to run a big race. Strawberry Moon has been a model of consistency without actually getting her head in front, and although she is proven on the ground she will probably have to settle for the role of bridesmaid again. Tito showed improved form to chase home Kashimin last time out and he is clearly on an upward curve. He should be thereabouts at the finish. Rae Guest's Minnola, whose dam was a smart sprinter, showed up well on her debut on soft ground so she is another who could go well. This is an open event and narrow preference is for Baby Rock.
