In depth

Verdict

SARWIN caught the eye on his seasonal debut and is taken to go one better to land this handicap with both Academy Blues and Young Gladiator worth noting. The selection finished second to Kidlat at Wolverhampton last week proving his wellbeing in the process. Although he is a winner on the all weather his form reads better on the turf and he has to be competitive of his current rating of 65. With fitness not being an issue he can prove difficult to beat. Academy Blues has top weight to hump around after finishing third of seven at Southwell in his first start for his new connections. He has two wins to his name in his native Ireland and has valuable form on a soft surface which will play to his strengths. His trainer Dandy Nicholls is a shrewd cookie so any market moves should be noted. Young Gladiator is a consistent sort who always seems to run his race. He is the winner of four races to date and comes into the contest in fine form so is another to add to the short list. Sarwin runs off what looks like affair mark and looks the percentage call.
