Verdict

An uncompetitive event which should go the way of Peter Makin's bay colt Queensway Quay, who demolished a large field at Lingfield on his debut. The runner-up that day Ombudsman had previously shown a fair level of form and was left for dead. With improvement expected, Queensway Quay should make the long journey north pay dividends. Another southern raider Gold Riviera needs to find plenty of improvement if he is to take a hand in the finish, while the other pair would be more at home in selling company.
