In depth

Verdict

It may be significant that Gerard Butler sends Jagger up to Redcar today and the three-year-old is taken to pay for the travelling expenses, with Starry Lodge, Border Tale and Sovereign Dreamer expected to scrap it out for the minors. The Linamix colt is still unexposed at the trip and can supplement his victory at Lingfield is he negotiates a clear passage here today. Starry Lodge may be capable of giving the selection the best test if he runs up to his best. However, he has a little to prove at this intermediate trip and may just find Jagger too good today. Tusk appeals as the best of those available at longer odds for a place.
