In depth

Verdict

Just eight runners for the feature event but it is very competitive. Sir Xaar has earned top-weight and should go well but Orpsie Boy has more scope for improvement and gets the decision ahead of Anna Pavlova. Nick Littmoden's colt lost his maiden tag at Chester before finishing a gallant second behind New Art in a cracking race at Newmarket. This event looks slightly easier and he should return to winning ways. Sir Xaar's fourth in the Coventry is the pick of his form and a repeat of that effort should see him involved in the finish. Meanwhile Anna Pavlova is very lightly raced and was still very green when winning at Haydock last time. There should be plenty more to come and she doesn't look overburdened here. Wovoka may do best of the remainder, but Orpsie Boy looks the pick of the weights this afternoon and gets the vote.
