          Verdict

          A tricky race to end the day with only one previous winner in the field and the winner may come from one of the James Given triumvirate Morvern, Alder Park or Maid For A Monarch with preference given to Alder Park. The selection ran well until fading last time out at Newcastle on similar ground he will encounter here. He should be fitter for that run and off a two pound lower mark has every chance. Morvern has promised more than he has delivered and was unfairly penalised by the handicapper for finishing close up behind a listed winner in a two-horse race last season. He looks the stable choice on jockey bookings but may have to wait another day for his first victory. Kevin Darley is an interesting jockey booking for Maid For A Monarch who has been disappointing this season. She looks fairly weighted however and could go well at a decent price now she has ground that could suit.
