In depth
Verdict
Stainley is fancied to get the better of Bedouin Blue and gets the nod, while Ransom Strip is better than he showed last time. He can go well now that he switches to turf. He also looks the type to benefit from the Mark Johnston work ethic and is likely to get better as the season progresses. Leanne Kershaw takes a very handy 7lb off the back of Bedouin Blue with her claim and the partnership should be in the thick of the action here. The firmer ground will be in their favour and they rate as the main dangers to the selection. However, Graham Gibbons knows Stainley very well and, now that he has proved he gets 10 furlongs well, the James Bethel-trained gelding looks the best bet for value here.
