Beautiful Madness gets a narrow vote in a wide open finale, Zamalik and Takanewa are also worthy of respect. Mick Quinlan's tjhree-year-old comes here in great form having easily won over this trip at Yarmouth, before being slightly out-paced next time out over five. Back over her preferred distance she should prove hard to beat. Zamalik hit winning form last time out when easily landing a modest maiden at Hamilton. He had performed with credit in handicaps prior to that win and has to be a real danger. Takanewa had no chance against Wolf River last time out but had some higher rated horse behind and could be reasonably well treated this afternoon. Lambency and Orotund are both recent winners and must be in with a squeak, but the more solid form is held by Beautiful Madness and she gets the verdict.
