          Verdict

          This looks a bit of a cavalry charge but Van Velde is among the least exposed having beaten Essential, only a pound better off, over 6f here last month in a maiden. Ripon winner Rosy Ryan goes on the short-list and Leicester runner-up Showdance Kid could also figure. Stubytuesday wasn't beaten far last time at Thirsk but RELIGHT MY FIRE could be one of those who will be suited by the likely end-to-end gallop and gets a tentative vote. Grinty can reverse course and distance form with Rose Eclair but Miracle Garden is better on the all-weather.
