Verdict
The pick here is Liturgical, ahead of King's Counsel and Yorgunnabelucky. But it's a tentative selection, as the majority of the scheduled 12 runners here are seeing a racecourse for the first time. Liturgical is having his 4th run; experience could count against the newcomers, and he's Mikael Magnusson's only runner of the afternoon, so he must think it's worth the trek north. He's got a decent draw too. Brian Smart's colt KING'S COUNSEL has the benefit of a high draw too, and has to be respected, along with Yorgunnabelucky. This is another of the newcomers, a colt from the Mark Johnston yard. He knows how to get them ready first time out, but the low draw of 2 could hinder. So for the selection we return to LITURGICAL.
