Verdict
Young Tom won a handicap at Leicester in June on heavy ground so it was a surprise when he ran so poorly in similar conditions at Hamilton last time. Torremar showed enough in his races this summer to suggest he was capable of winning a race and started favourite when stepped up to 1m4f at Pontefract but couldn't make inroads on the leaders. Disquotational travels up from Newmarket but has never looked like winning nor has fellow traveller Heavensfield, who wears a first-time hood. Rockliffe has only won once and was beaten in a Chepstow seller in August but ADHERENCE has gone close on several occasions without winning, including over this trip, so gets the vote in a very poor handicap. Mikro Polemistis may be the one to chase him home as he's another who has gone close over the trip.
