Verdict
A really good contest with some progressive 3-y-os on show, nothing more so than NURPUR. The O'Meara inmate has relished the step-up to 1m and is two from two at the trip, having been especially impressive when scoring with something in hand at York last Friday. He escapes a penalty for that apprentice race triumph and must go close again in an admittedly stronger affair. Aeronwyn Bryn, up 18lb for two successes, still went well when runner-up next time but looks on a high enough mark for now, whilst Light Rose continues to suggest she's still not firing on all cylinders. Therefore, Woody Bay, a dual scorer in June, should get the strong gallop he needs here and is nominated as the main threat as he looks open to further improvement. Strong Conviction and Black Rider are also noted in a competitive affair.
